Packing up your life and moving either down the street or across the country can feel terrifying but it doesn’t have to be. Follow these moving tips, and you’ll be relaxing in your new space before you know it.

1. Use Vacuum Bags to save space.

Some moving companies charge by the box, these are perfect for fitting much more in your boxes saving you money. This hack is especially perfect if there are items you will be packing away for a while.

2. Cling wrap is your new best friend.

Use cling wrap to place over cutlery racks or any organizers so you don’t have to unpack and repack them again.

3. Fill up empty vessels. 

Fill up suitcases, laundry baskets, or pots with smaller items like clothing, cleaning supplies or spices. 

4. Wrap Fragile Items in Towels.

Rather than wasting a lot of newspaper packing plates, cups or other breakable items, roll them up in towels, this way you also save space by not having to individually pack your towels.

5. Label Cables.

Just moved into your new home and now you have to set up your electronics. There is nothing more frustrating that not knowing what cable goes where. Marking all your cables can prevent this frustration.

6. Place Trash Bags Over Hanging Clothes.

8. Cut Holes on the Sides of Boxes for Easy Carrying.

Bending down to pick up boxes from the bottom can lead to a tender back the next day or even permanent damage. This trick will make boxes much easier to pick up and carry.

9. Make Your New Space Feel Homey.

Buy yourself some fresh flowers or a new household item that will give a warm, homey touch while you work toward getting settled.
